Department News & Events

Departments have the ability to create and post news and events items for the department. The news and events functionality that has been developed also includes the ability to syndicate items that are submitted by a department to the University website ( All news items that are submitted must be approved by the Marketing and Communications Department before they are posted to

The news and events syndication process works as follows: 1) Department Content Editor logs into Drupal on and posts a news and/or event item that is tagged for the department homepage. The Content Editor can also select an option to request the item be posted to 2) The news and/or item is displayed on the department homepage in the news block. Only news and events items that have been submitted by the department will show in the news block.
