Environment: Android Oreo (Android 8.0) or later
Purpose: Connect an Android device to the Eduroam WiFi network
Introduction
These are the steps necessary to connect to the Eduroam network on your Android phone.
Android 14
- Settings should be as shown below
- EAP method: PEAP
- Identity - Enter YOUR stfx username without @stfx.ca
- Anonymous identity: your stfx username
- Password: Your current Stfx password, the same as your moodle and email
- CA Certificate - Trust on 1st use
- Online Certificate Status - Do not validate
- Click the Advanced and ensure Phase 2 authentication is set to MSCHAPV2 (some phone models will list secondary authentication under the EAP settings)
Android Version 11-13
- Click on "eduroam" listed in your available networks.
- Settings should be as shown below
- EAP method: PEAP
- Identity - Enter YOUR stfx username without @stfx.ca
- Anonymous identity: Leave this line blank.
- Password: Your current Stfx password, the same as your moodle and email
- CA Certificate - Use System Certificates
- Online Certificate Status - Do not validate
- Domain - ad.stfx.ca
- Click the Advanced and ensure Phase 2 authentication is set to MSCHAPV2 (some phone models will list secondary authentication under the EAP settings)
Previous Versions of Android
These are the steps necessary to connect to our Eduroam network on campus on your android phone.
1. Click on "Eduroam" listed in your available networks.
Enter credentials
Choose these options for each category.
1. EAP method: PEAP
2. Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
3. CA certificate: (unspecified)
4. Identity: your webFX username (i.e. x2013abc)
5. Anonymous identity: Leave this line blank.
6. Password: Your current webFX password.
7. Click connect
Click Connect
You will now be connected to our Eduroam wireless network.
