StFX Account Lifecycle

StFX account creation and exiting process.

Body

 

StFX, or often called webfx account consists of your StFX username and password.   You StFX account is used to access core IT Services on and off campus such as;

  • Office 365
  • Printing
  • Moodle
  • Email
  • Wireless
  • Network Logins
  • Qualtrics
  • Teams

 Student StFX Accounts 

Students are permitted to have a Student accounts while they are an active student.  Student accounts are created and removed based upon Banner data.   Accounts are created upon acceptance.   Accounts are eligible to be closed 365 days following a student leaving university.   IT Services conducts account reviews bi-annually, in April and in July.

 Faculty & Staff StFX Account

Faculty and Staff accounts are created by their incoming departments submitting a Staff and Faculty Account Request Form.   Departing faculty member have access to their account for 90 days following IT services receiving notice from the AVP office.    Retiring Faculty members have access to their accounts 5 years following their retirement date.  Staff accounts are disabled following confirmation from Human Resources.

 Generic/Operational StFX Account

Generic, or sometimes referred to as Operational accounts, are created by submitting an Operational Account Request Form.     Each operational account must have a current StFX employee/member as the account owner.   Operational accounts are reviewed annually in may.  

  Affiliate Account

Affiliate accounts are created by submitting an Affiliate Account Request Form.     Each operational account must have a current StFX employee/member as the account owner.   Operational accounts are reviewed annually in may.

Student Account access is based on Banner status. All active students are eligible to have a StFX account.
