Windows Print Spooler Error

Summary

This guide will walk you through restarting the print spooler if it has stopped running.

Sometimes the Print Spooler will stop working and it will appear as if you have lost connection to all printers.  To fix this do the following:

  1. In the Start menu type services.msc
  2. Once you have that open, scroll down to Print Spooler (it should be alphabetical order)
  3. Right click on the Print Spooler and click on properties
  4. Make sure the start up is on automatic
  5. Check to see if the status is stopped, if it is click start
  6. Click Apply and then Okay
  7. The printers should reconnect
