Body
Environment: Mac devices using keychain
Purpose: Delete a Keychain for when a master password is forgotten or when Keychain breaks
If your keychain is giving you constant pop-ups or you've forgotten your password for the keychain, you may need to delete it out and start over. This means you will have to login to anything the keychain had previously saved but you will be able to create a new one.
***Deleting a Keychain should be treated as a last resort as it is very easy to delete important files and is entirely at the user's own risk. It is recommended to talk with Apple support before continuing.***
To delete your keychain do the following:
- Open Finder
- In th top bar, click Go
- Press the Option key on your keyboard and click on Library that will appear in the menu (you must hold down Option to select Library)
- Scroll down and open the Keychains folder and double click to see it's contents
- Select everything in the folder and drag it to the trash
- Restart your computer
- You will now be prompted to re-enter your credentials.
