Environment: Windows KX User
Purpose: Show steps as to how to set up shortcut for KX
You Can Create Desktop Shortcuts for KX by Doing the Following Steps.
You can access different environments by changing the shortcut path from
Live: \\kate\kinetic\KX_Live\Apps\Kinetix.exe /lang=8
Testing: \\kate\kinetic\Kx_Testing\Kx.exe /lang=8
On Campus
1.Right click on your desktop
2.Highlight New and click Shortcut
3. In the Popup box where it says type the location of the item Paste in \\kate\kinetic\KX_Live\Apps\Kinetix.exe /lang=8
4. Hit Next
5.Name the shortcut or leave it as default
6.Click Finish
7. Double click the new shortcut.
Off Campus
1. Connect the stfx-vpn using forticlient , see other KB article for help with this: https://stfx.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1764/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=30052
2.Right click on your desktop
3.Highlight New and click Shortcut
4. In the Pop-up box where it says type the location of the item Paste in \\kate\kinetic\KX_Live\Apps\Kinetix.exe /lang=8
5. Hit Next (At this point you may receive a popup message asking what credentials you would like to use to connect, you will use (webfx\username) username = your stfx username (ex.bmartell) and your stfx login password.)
6.Name the shortcut or leave it as default
7.Click Finish
8. Double click the new shortcut.
9. It is likely that the application will need to copy over temporary files to your machine to function properly, this can take a while but the application will be ready to use once this is complete.
