Purpose: Address common issues with Collaborate Ultra
Tips and Tricks
Below are some troubleshooting tips when issues are encountered in Collaborate Ultra.
Browser
- Make sure participant is using a supported browser (Chrome/chromium-based browsers (recommended), Firefox, Safari
Connectivity
- Ask that the user hard wire, if possible, as opposed to using Wi-Fi
- Close any/all unnecessary apps
- Tell others in household to limit Internet use
If the user cannot hear or the microphone does not work
- Close the browser tab and re-enter classroom
- Close Chrome completely and re-enter classroom
- Click on the lock icon in the browser address bar to allow audio/visual (student may have accidentally said “no” to allowing audio/visual)
- If the student is using a headset, get them to try unplugging and using computer mic/speakers
- If the student is using a secondary monitor, ask them to unplug monitor
If none of these options work
- Try using a different supported browser
As a last resort
- Restart computer (this is the last resort as this takes the longest)
Collaborate Ultra has a great support site.
