Environment: Using a device with low disk space
Purpose: To clean the disk and improve overall computer performance
How do I check the storage space on my device?
Windows Devices
To check the storage being used on your device:
- Open Settings
- Select System on the left
- Select Storage
From here you will be able to see the total storage capabilities of your device, the amount of storage being used, and the remaining amount of storage.
If your device has less than 25GB free, it is time to free up some storage. Failure to do so can lead to issues with updates.
Optimal usage leaves 10-15% of your device's maximum storage capacity free.
