Brian Mulroney Institute of Government Video Studio - Dejero Broadcasting

Summary

Overview of the process to send the studio signal to broadcasters using the Dejero system.

Body

The Dejero Flexpoint server provides connection to any TV Broadcaster who subscribes to the Dejero broadcast network.

The program output of the ATEM switcher is feeding the Dejero server input and the image can be confirmed on the Samsung Monitor which is running the Dejero control software.

Note: You will need access to a phone line (landline or Mobile) to speak with the Broadcaster making the interview request.

When a broadcaster requests an interview with the Dejero system, you will be required to follow the  steps listed below.

  1. Using any web browser go to https://control.dejero.com/users/sign_in
  2. You will asked to enter an Email and Password.  Check with the system administrator for this information
  3. Once you have logged into the Dejero Control Dashboard, select Device Sharing from the “Manage” drop down menu.

4.   On the next page click on the “Share Device” button in the upper right corner.

5.  Enter the required info on the screen and advance through the Next Steps.

Step 1 will display the name of your device.
Step 2 – Select Sources to send your Video and Audio to the Broadcaster.
Step 3 – The Device ID should be saved in the Drop Down menu.
Step 4 – Enter the email address of the person requesting the device control. This will be provided by the Broadcaster making the interview request.
Final Step – Send Invitation.  This will send the output video and audio to the broadcaster making the request.  In addition, the broadcaster will have access your Dejero Flexpoint settings if adjustments are needed.

At this point you will want to confirm with the broadcaster that they are receiving your Video and Audio.  You can all the person designated at the specific Broadcast station.

Note: The Camera will be selected on the ATEM switcher and wireless lapel mic will be selected on the Audio mixer in order for the broadcaster to be able to see and hear the guest being interviewed.

The wireless IFB system is available for the guest to hear the interviewer.  Two options are available for using the IFB – you must confirm with the broadcaster what method they prefer.

  1. Use any available Mobile phone and connect the IFB earpiece to the headphone jack on the phone.  Provide the mobile number to the broadcaster so a connection can be established.
  2. Use the IFB signal built into the Dejero system.  This audio will pass through the QSC audio mixer and output to the Aux connections feeding the IFB Transmitters in the studio. See the audio instruction for this setup procedure.
