StFX Account

Your StFX account is your access to all of the following services provided to you by St. Francis Xavier University:

  • Email Account 
  • Microsoft 365
  • WiFi Access
  • Local Network Storage (5 GB)
  • Web Storage (5 GB)
  • Departmental Shared Drives
  • Moodle Learning Management System
  • Centralized Printing

Other Accounts

Depending on your department and your role, additional account access can be requested for: Banner Forms, Banner Self-Service, mesAMIS Reports, KX, and Blackboard Transact.

Office Technology

Each faculty and staff member is provided with the standard StFX office configuration which includes a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and printing services. All computer systems are equipped with virus and spyware protection software.

Telephone Services: Each faculty or staff member, upon request, has access to telephone services/ For more information, please visit the IT Services website.

Your department can also request a cell phone under StFX's mobility plan. You can visit the procurement website for wireless device policy and application form: Procurement

Networking Services: We provide two WiFi connections: WebFX and Eduroam;

  • The WebFX network offers secure wired and wireless access. Virtual Private Network access is available for off-campus users.
  • The Eduroam network provides current users with fast, secure, and reliable access to wireless services at StFX University and other institutions in 70 countries worldwide.

Optical Mark Recognition: OMR test correction supplies are available from the IT Services Help Desk. Departments are charged for the cost of supplies and for the scanning/correction process.

Consulting: Technology Consulting for Procurement & Projects. IT Services staff are available to support project planning or technology procurement.

Printing: There are large Konica multifunction printers around the StFX campus. Large-scale printing services are available through the Campus Store, located in the Bloomfield Centre. 

Audio Visual: The Audio Visual team provides support for classroom technology and special events. For classroom emergencies, please use the in-class phone or dial (902) 867-2356 and choose option 1.

Software Applications

Microsoft Office 365 is available to all students, faculty, and staff. Office 365 is a cloud-based platform which includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Office 365 also features online versions of some Office apps as well as online storage (OneDrive), messaging and conferencing (Skype for Business), and the ability to collaborate on projects in real time (SharePoint).

Other academic software titles are available such as Microsoft Visio and Project for faculty use.

Moodle is the university's learning management system and can be accessed here: Moodle

Qualtrics are available for use on campus. Account request forms can be found in the IT Services Catalog

Computer Lab Applications


All Students will have access to academic software from any device on the mylabapp.stfx.ca platform.   New Software or updated software versions must be requested by faculty.
