Check for rules in Outlook

Microsoft Outlook allows you to move, reply, delete, flag ad respond to messages automatically. Often when an account is compromized, you may find new rules added to your mailbox that you do not recognize. To check for rules currently applied to your mailbox, use the following instructions.

 

Outlook online users

1. Log into your outlook using your webfx email and password (outlook.office.com)

2. Click on the settings button (), at the top right side of the window

3. At the bottom of the settings bar that opens, click on View all Outlook settings

4. Click on Rules to check the rules applied to your account. Remove all unrecognized rules

5. In the same menu, click on Sweep (below Rules) and remove all unrecognized rules.

 

Mac users

1. Open your outlook app

2. On the menu bar at the top of your window. click on Outlook > Preferences

3. Click on Rules in the outlook preferences window

4. Look for any unrecognized rules and remove them

 

Windows users

1. Open your outlook app

2. Click File > Manage Rules & Alerts

3. Select a rule and click Delete to remove an unrecognized rule
