Teams makes it easy to show your availability status to others, for calls and chats.
The colored dot next to your profile picture or initials indicates your status:
- Green: Available
- Yellow: Appear Away, Be right back (Inactive, changes automatically after no activity)
- Red: Busy, Do Not Disturb
- Busy will allow Teams messages or calls.
- Do Not Disturb (DnD) will block any incoming Teams messages or calls.
- To allow certain individuals to bypass DnD mode follow steps below:
- Click the profile picture or initials and select Settings.
- Click on Privacy
- Click on Manage Priority Access.
- Add any names you believe should be able to notify you no matter your status.
- White or blank: Appear Offline
Setting Duration
To set a Duration so that Teams will automatically reset your status at the end of the allotted time:
- Click on the colored dot next to your profile picture or initials
- Select Duration under the list of available statuses
- Select the length of time before resetting the status back to available
