Purpose: How to use the ATEM video switcher
Operating the Blackmagic ATEM Video Switcher
This video switcher has 8 inputs, 2 are currently being used. Input 1 is the Dell All In One Computer, Input 5 is the PTZ Camera. The switching is done with the ATEM Control Software that is run on the Dell All in One Computer.
Using the Dell All in One computer Navigate to Programs > Blackmagic Design > ATEM Software Control to open the ATEM switcher interface.
When the software opens you will see 4 selections at the bottom of the screen. Select Switcher if not already selected.
***Note Audio & Camera are not used in this studio.
With the Switcher selected you will see 4 rows of buttons, the top 2 rows control the Program output, the bottom 2 rows control the Preview Output.
As mentioned above, the 2 video sources that are available are Input 1 labeled Comp (Dell Computer) and PTZ (Camera).
Additional available sources are; Bars (Color Bars), Blk (Black), MP1 & MP2 (Media Player).
ATEM Multi View display shows all of the available sources as well as the Preview and Program monitor.
As additional sources are added to the switcher the images will appear on the Mult-View display.
Use the Transition Section of the ATEM software control to change the video source from Preview to Program.

Select the CUT button to instantly move the image from Preview to Program. Note that the image that was on Program has now moved to Preview.
The AUTO button will create a transition between Preview and Program. The transition type is selected in the areas above the CUT & AUTO buttons. Available Transitions are MIX, DIP, WIPE , STING & DVE

Select the Media option to access the 2 Media Players.
In this section you can load 20 different still images into the ATEM control software. You can store logos, pictures, full page graphics and graphic titles that are super imposed on top of the video.
Once the images are added to the Media pool you can load them into the 2 media players for playback.
