Adding a grading rubric to an assignment


Before setting up a rubric, make an assignment. Click here for instructions on making an assignment. 

1. Go to the assignment that you would like to add the rubric to.


2. Click the gear at the top right of the assignment page and choose Define rubric:


3. Name your rubric: 


4. Under Rubric, add criteria across the row. You can edit the points by clicking on them: 

After clicking the greyed out sections, enter row names. Add level if a new level is needed: 


5. Click Add criterion to add additional rows: 


6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and choose Save rubric and make it ready.


7. Go back to the assignment and choose Grade. The new rubric will appear in the grading window: 

Marking with the rubric is easy. Simply click on the score to assign the student points. Once the rubric has been filled out, a grade will automatically be assigned to the student.
