Environment: Faculty StFX-owned device with SPSS installed locally
Problem Summary:
SPSS Statistics Doesn't Run on Sonoma (macOS14.0)
Error: Server Login: Local Computer
Install the fix for SPSS Sonoma:
1. Be sure SPSS is closed
2. Download files needed for the Sonoma Fix
SPSS 28 Fix Files
SPSS 29 Fix Files
Click on the download in the top bar.
How to apply the hot fix:
1) Close all instances of Statistics 28 Desktop
2) Navigate to the ../lib subdirectory in the Statistics 28 Desktop installation path.
(e.g. "/Applications/IBM SPSS Statistics/SPSS Statistics.app/Contents/lib/")
Application -> IBM SPSS Statistics
Inside the SPSS Statistics Folder:
(Control + Right Click on Track pad) -> Show Package Contents
Show Package Contents -> Contents -> lib
3) Locate the following file and back it up to a separate folder, such as your Desktop.
libplatdep.dylib
4) Copy the following interim fix files to the 28 installation folder located in step 3.
libplatdep.dylib
5) Make sure the installed files have correct permissions (e.g. chmod 755)
