University Webpages

The Marketing and Communications Department manages the corporate University homepage (www.stfx.ca) and all subsequent webpages under this domain including the following:

In addition, the Marketing and Communications department manages the MyStFX homepage.

Department Webpages

University departments that migrate their department websites from their current location (ex: sites.stfx.ca/department) to the new Drupal 7 system (ex: mystfx.ca/department) will continue to maintain full control of all pages within their department website (ex: mystfx.ca/department). Departments will maintain the ability to create, update, and delete pages within their website as required.

As the overall theme for the Drupal system is owned by the Marketing and Communications Department, individual departments will not have the ability to modify specific elements that are global to the system. These elements include:

1) Banner - The banner appears at the top of all webpages. This banner contains the University logo as well as links to key areas of the University website (www.stfx.ca). This banner is a global element that is shared by all department websites.

2) Search Box - The search box appears at the top of all webpages. Search functionality is a global element that is shared by all department websites.

3) Quick Links - The quick links menu appears at the top of all webpages and contains links to MySTFX, StFX, Department Menu and Apply Now. This is a global element that is shared by all department websites.  The Department Menu is the only menu link that is updated by each department.

4) Footer - The footer appears at the bottom of all webpages. This footer contains the links to the About StFX, Contact Us, Media Contact, and Privacy webpages on the University website (www.stfx.ca). This footer is a global element that is shared by all department websites.

6) Right Navigation Menu - The right navigation menu is unique to each department website. University departments have full control over this menu including the items to appear, the order, and nesting of menu items.

7) Webpage Body - University departments have full control over the text, images, and links that are placed within the body of a department page. Departments have the ability to create as few or as many webpages for their department as they require.
