Purpose: Provide a guide for showing or hiding marks in Quizzes. (Note: Final Exam grades remain hidden)
Marks for quizzes in Moodle are handled differently than all other graded activities. The view options for grades can be set in the quiz settings under "review options". These have different scenarios for exactly when a test-taker can see grades from a quiz. Most instructors prefer to have the questions remain hidden and just give the marks as they may re-use the questions in other courses and therefore may wish to keep the questions hidden after use.
Instructions
- Go to the course quiz
- When looking at the quiz page, select settings in the top menu.
- Scroll down the list of settings to Review options.
- In the review options there are checklists for different scenarios to view grades.
- Some review options require the quiz to be open or closed. This would require the dates be set in the Availability settings farther up the menu.
- A common grade setting is "after the quiz is closed" and maximum marks and marks are checked.
- It is common for the Final Exam marks to never be displayed.
