macOS - Finding your Computer Name, Model Number, and Serial Number

 

 

 

This guide will review how to run a System Report on your Mac to get the Computer Name, Model number, and Serial Number. Please note if you are using a MacBook to run Windows you will have to follow this guide to get your computer's name.

 

Introduction

 

1. Click on the apple in the top left hand corner of Finder.

2. Select "About This Mac"

 
 

3. Select "System Report..."

 

 

4.

  • Your Computer Name is located in blue at the bottom
  • Your Model Number is listed in red as the "Model Identifier"
  • Your Serial Number is listed in yellow as "Serial Number (system)"
