Issues with Apple Mail App after Multi-Factor Authentication set up

iOS Mail App Not Sending or Receiving Emails after MFA 

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to guide in the recovery of StFX email accounts that may be having difficulty with their iOS Mail app after having Multi-Factor Authentication turned on. 

Environment: The environment of this is for iOS users (Apple iPhone, iPad, MacBook, etc) 

To Resolve Issue

To delete an email account on iOS, you’ll need to open your Settings app, head to Mail, and then do the following.

1) Select Mail > Accounts.

2) Choose the email account you want to delete.

3) At the bottom, tap Delete Account.

4) Confirm that you want to remove the account by tapping Delete from My iPhone.

To add your StFX account back in, proceed with the following steps.

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.                      
  2. Tap Add Account, then select your email provider. This is Exchange for StFX accounts. 
  3. Enter your email address and password. Select Sign In
  4. Tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account.
  5. Choose information from your email account, like Contacts or Calendars.
  6. Tap Save.
