Environment: St.FX employee working remotely
Purpose: Resolve issues when connecting to WiFi
When working from home/remotely there has been issues connecting to WiFi networks with certain windows computers. The steps below walk through the process of how to resolve this issue.
Step 1
Connect to your home Wi-Fi
Step 2
Open your network settings in Windows:
- Settings > Network and Internet > Wi-Fi > Click on the name of your home Wi-Fi network (I’m using WEBFX as an example)
Step 3
You will see the section above in Red that is causing the issue as the STFX VPN DNS Settings were not released. To correct this:
- Click on the DNS server assignment EDIT button and set to Automatic. The DNS will switch from STFX's 141.109 to your provider's DNS.
- Test browsing.
- Reboot and test again.
