Environment: Stfx account holder requiring access to the VPN
Purpose: To explain VPN for MFA
What is VPN MFA
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required to access the StFX VPN. MFA for VPN is separate system from M365 MFA which is used to access office 365 accounts.
What Methods are Available
There are only 2 methods of Authentication available
- Software Token - To use this you will need download the FortiToken app on your mobile device
- Hardware Token - If you do not have a hardware token one can be requested for your account
What else do i need to?
Once you have your method configued you will need the most recent version of FortiClient
Download latest FortiClient Software
If you prefer to use only one authenticator application for your M365 and MFA for VPN your microsoft account can be added into the FortiToken applications.
