What is this service?
Faculty and staff may request usage of the wildcard (_____.stfx.ca) SSL certificate for websites and applications.
If faculty or staff wish to purchase an SSL certificate for a website or application that does not use the stfx.ca domain, consulting services can be requested to provide guidance in the purchase of their own SSL certificate.
Why is it useful?
SSL ensures that information sent or received from a server to a user remains secure. This is required for logins, transmission of sensitive or personal information, etc.
