Managing Security information for MyPassword and Microsoft 365 MFA

Add a method

  • Go to mypassword.stfx.ca
  • Choose the third option, Update Information
  • Log in using your StFX credentials 

 

​​​​In your account settings 

  • Select Security Info  

  • A code will be sent to your current default contact method, enter this code.

Add method 

  • To add a new contact method select the add method button. 

  • Choose the method you'd like to add from the dropdown. ( Steps to add an Authenticator app method can be found here )

  • Enter your information for your preferred contact method. ( Phone call method pictured, you can choose to be contacted by text or call by selecting 'Text me' or 'Call me'.)

 

  • If you've chosen 'Text me' or added an email you will receive a code to enter.
  • If you added a phone to call you will receive a call and be directed to press pound to confirm.
    • If you've chosen this method, make sure you are nearby the phone added.

 

 

Remove a method

  • In the Security Info page, click the 'Delete' in line with the contact method you'd like to remove.
  • Click OK

Edit a method

  • In the Security Info page, click the 'Edit' in line with the contact method you'd like to edit.
  • Enter the new info, and confirm it as you would when adding a method.
